Super- Resolution in DTI (Diffusion Tensor Imaging)

Using of Super- Resolution techniques for counter the low resolution in the Diffusion tensor images.

The diffusion tensor images are product of multiple acquisitions of the same volume during the modification of the diff usion-sensitizing gradients on a magnetic resonance sequence. This method allows to identify the water diffusion along the brain. This diffusion information is useful for structural integrity analysis of some brain regions. However, the resolution of the DTI is restricted by the long acquisition time, so is important to construct clinically useful images, in terms of resolution, signal to noise ratio and acquisition time. The acquisition time reduction, also reduce the spacial resolution. Most of the important diffusion regions have smaller dimensions than the typical voxel size (2x2x2 mm). As a solution to the spacial resolution and low acquisition problem we propose a super -Resolution approach to enhance the image resolution with only post processing tools and without increase the acquisition time.
