Automatic detection of pedunculated polyps in colonoscopy videos

A polyp is an abnormal growth of tissue that projects from the wall of the colon.

We are currently working with sequences of colonoscopy videos provided by the Gastroenterology Unit of the Hospital Universitario Nacional de Colombia. Our purpose is to design and evaluate a method that extracts visual characteristics of gastrointestinal polyps in colonoscopy videos.
